Kerry Promises to Sign Form 180 On Meet The Press
In this week's edition of KerryWatch®, we find the Senator from Massachusetts hard at work correcting the ill-advised misapprehensions of the Unwashed Masses.
Yes, at long last, The Truth can be Revealed, mes amis.... Repeat after me if you will, those Four Golden Words. It's never his fault:
US Democratic Senator John Kerry says a video message from Osama Bin Laden sealed his defeat in a presidential race dominated by the 9/11 attacks.Mr Kerry told NBC TV his opinion poll lead over President George W Bush "fell away" after the tape was broadcast.
"Your security does not lie in the hands of Kerry, Bush or al-Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands," said the al-Qaeda figurehead, claiming that the best way for the US to avoid fresh attacks was to call off its "war on terror".
Could this be because voters didn't feel safe with Jean-Fraude at the helm? Mais non, you silly Americans!
Mr Kerry said he was proud of his presidential campaign, claiming it had brought "millions of new voters" into the political process."I won the youth vote. I won the independent vote. I won the moderate vote."
But, Mr Kerry said, he had faced a difficult task in persuading a country at war "to shift horses in midstream".
[Ed. note: Just out of curiosity, exactly how does one "shift a horse"? Is this anything like cow-tipping? Would this, perchance, be a "Kerryism"?]
"I believe that 9/11 was the central deciding issue in this race," he said.
And here we'd thought it was, perhaps, Vietnam. Lord knows that's all the man talked about since Super Tuesday.
Mr Kerry also renewed attacks on President Bush over his handling of the conflict in Iraq. He argued that a new Iraqi security force was not being forged rapidly enough and that the government's attitude had made the US less safe.
"I believe this administration has set back America's interests and security on a global basis. And over the next few months, I intend to lay out very, very clearly exactly how they've done and how we can do a better job."
Undoubtedly the Senator has a plan for that, too. Earlier on Meet The Press, the Senator warned about the dangers of undue optimism after yesterday's election in Iraq:
No one in the United States should try to overhype this election. ...what really counts now is the effort to have a legitimate political reconciliation, and it's going to take a massive diplomatic effort and a much more significant outreach to the international community than this administration has been willing to engage in. Absent that, we will not be successful in Iraq.MR. RUSSERT: Do you believe this election will be seen by the world community as legitimate?
SEN. KERRY: A kind of legitimacy--I mean, it's hard to say that something is legitimate when a whole portion of the country can't vote and doesn't vote. I think this election was important. I was for the election taking place. You may recall that back in--well, there's no reason you would--but back in Fulton, Missouri, during the campaign, I laid out four steps, and I said at the time, "This may be the president's last chance to get it right."
Hmmm... yes... well so many things are "hard to say". Such as what the Senator's position is, at a given point in time.
Some might see the future of Iraq being settled in... well... Iraq. But visionary leaders like Senator Kerry think outside the box - that's why he went to see one of our staunchest allies***, Egypt (which, last time we checked, has nothing whatever to do with Iraq) to shore up our failing foreign policy:
*** for a definition of staunch ally, see France, Germany
I was in Egypt three weeks ago. I met with President Mubarak. We were talking about training. I asked him, "You know, why don't you do more training?" His response was, "We've offered do more training. We're doing 146 officers today. I don't know why we're not doing more. People haven't followed up with us. They haven't gotten back to us."
Undoubtedly this all ties in (in some way the Senator has yet to make clear) with Iraq. We await the connection with extreme interest. But perhaps most importantly, Tim Russert got Jean-Fraude to promise to sign the heretofor elusive Form 180:
MR. RUSSERT: Many people who've been criticizing you have said: Senator, if you would just do one thing and that is sign Form 180, which would allow historians and journalists complete access to all your military records. Thus far, you have gotten the records, released them through your campaign. They say you should not be the filter. Sign Form 180 and let the historians...SEN. KERRY: I'd be happy to put the records out. We put all the records out that I had been sent by the military. Then at the last moment, they sent some more stuff, which had some things that weren't even relevant to the record. So when we get--I'm going to sit down with them and make sure that they are clear and I am clear as to what is in the record and what isn't in the record and we'll put it out. I have no problem with that.
MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?
SEN. KERRY: But everything, Tim...
MR. RUSSERT: WOULD YOU SIGN FORM 180?
SEN. KERRY: Yes, I will. But everything that we put in it, Tim--everything we put in--I mean, everything that was out was a full documentation of all of the medical records, all of the fitness reports.
The Senator couldn't help trying to get in one last dig about how he was robbed on November 2nd, but Tim Russert wasn't buying it:
SEN. KERRY: If you take half the people at an Ohio State football game on Saturday afternoon and they were to have voted the other way, you and I would be having a discussion today about my State of the Union speech.MR. RUSSERT: And the president will say if he had half the people at a high school basketball game in New Hampshire or Oregon, he would have carried those states because he lost them by 5,000 or 7,000.
Heh...

» Kerry - "Don't Over-Hype This Election" from Prince Pundit
Whose idea was it to book Senator John Kerry as the single guest on Meet the Press yesterday? On a historic day when Iraqis are voting in a democratic manner, wouldn't you think that would be the top story? Why was it necessary to have the big French... [Read More]

That last exchange was my favorite. I might point out that those high school basketball games would have to be in Indiana or Kentucky. I doubt Oregon gets 10,000 people to a high school basketball game. But a good line nonetheless.

I am afraid that Mr Russert will have his heart broken.
Kerry will sign his 180 when Eskimos are complaining that it's too cold in Hell.
And if 50,000 people at an Ohio State game had changed their mind, Kerry still would have lost.
Unfortunately, at a Buckeye game, most voters there would be Democrats.
Another glass of Whining Concord, senator?

MR. RUSSERT: WOULD YOU SIGN FORM 180?
SEN. KERRY: Yes, I will. But...pay no attention to the documents behind the curtain, the documents *I* showed you were a full documentation of all of the medical records, all of the fitness reports. The documents behind the curtain are irrelevant, forget you ever heard about them. Do not arouse the wrath of the great and powerful Kerry.

Senator Inconsequenstial (D-Loserville) just doesn't get it. The reason Russert kept after him about his military records is because everthing is NOT "out." (How about them discharge records, Snator? You know, the original ones?) It's not that it matters so much anymore, but lying is just so...pedestrian.

Shifting a horse is simple--just put TWO quarters in the coin box...
Posted by: cw4billt at January 31, 2005 11:36 AM
Kerry does a 180 on the 180.
What a flip flopping simp.
NOW he wants to come forward.
He also has supposedly claimed that he
and Bush were in Skull and Bones together.

"But, Mr Kerry said, he had faced a difficult task in persuading a country at war "to shift horses in midstream"."
What my former owner really means is:
"It is a difficult task, to persuade a country at war, with my horse shi(f)t about the need to shift horses in midstream."

Alas, after reading everything I could from the 2 distinguished Dim-witted children from Massachusets over the past 3 days, I've been forced to decide that JFK2 will NEVER sign SF180....neither he nor his inebriated mentor has ever performed an act of courage.Cowards perform cowardly acts, and can only snipe at real men as they go about their chores. Both have been de-nutted years ago, sadly, they had both spawned heirs.

I am getting more mail about this... people are really upset, Greg.
I've decided - Kerry is the Anti-Christ :D

thanx, cassandra, for helping us keep our eye on the ball - the truth of what John Kerry said vis a vis his activity in the Vietnam War.
While others would distract us by talking about how many Marines died in Iraq today, how many lost arms, legs, etc. you keep us focused on the important question of whether the other JFK was 100% honest in his statements about the Vietnam War.
Thank you for helping us all keep our eyes on the ball.
Posted by: anon at January 31, 2005 07:58 PM
Gee whiz... don't let the fact that Senator Kerry's statements on his Vietnam record are the one topic I very carefully did NOT comment on keep you from putting your foot in your mouth, anon.
Don't let a few inconvenient facts get in the way of an idiotic rant.
Posted by: Cassandra at January 31, 2005 08:13 PM
I hear they have very good reading comprehension classes down at the local community college.
Signups ought to be going on just about now. Give it a try, won't you?
Reading is fundamental.

Does anon realize how stupid her posts seem?
Guess not.

Madam PR - Either your post was her wake-up call or she was knew I have a plethora of C4.
And a caulking gun.

One last point here.....re-reading the transcript of this interview, I was struck by the good Senator's admission of conducting his own little private war e.g."running guns to the Khmer Rouge"...was this a spoonerism?or did the French word "rouge" (red if my H.S. french is correct) become "seared, seared I say" into his memory?Cass, I think I agree with ya dear, JFK2 is a purely evil organism, who will say ANYTHING that suits his purpose. He makes jackals seem the top of the food chain.
Greg
Posted by: Greg at February 1, 2005 12:10 PM
Greg - Interesting you picked up on that. If he was indeed deliverying arms and ammunition to the Khmer Rouge, then he was
a. making the pickups inside Red China and
b. actively working for the overthrow of a government (Lon Nol's, at the time) we were actively courting as a "friendly" neutral.
Can *you* say, "Yer lying through yer freakin' teeth again, John-boy"...?
Sher. I knew you could...
Posted by: cw4billt at February 1, 2005 04:07 PM
That stupid damned Cambodia story morphs every time he tells it.
I'd pay attention, if I thought anyone else was.
I'm just so tired of this whole thing - he lies through his teeth and no one cares - no one is going to make him back up anything he says. Meanwhile, if you call him on it, you have to cite chapter and verse, and even when you do that, it's never enough.
I said something was fishy about his record and his medals and the POW/MIA story over and over again a year ago, before the Swift Vets, and got told I was full of crap. Then it comes out and everyone's "Wow! That's amazing!"
Enough already.
Posted by: Cass at February 1, 2005 04:52 PM
...not that I'm bitter or anything :)
Posted by: Cass at February 1, 2005 04:53 PM
There, there. Remind me to tell you about JFK2s description of Co Nam Can and what it really looked like.
Us Hubert pilots may not have been glamorous, but we did get around a bit...'specially in the Delta...
Posted by: cw4billt at February 1, 2005 06:14 PM
Helk, I thought JFK2 was stationed at Me Lie!
Reminds me of the movie "groove tube",reporting from the hamlet of Suk Muk Dik, 2 klicks from Long Wang.......ah the memories.

I completely agree with the author of this blog. His military record is utterly important to the issue of whether he is fit to rule. As, would be, his records respectively, of drug use (particularly cocaine) and of driving (particularly hedges)
