Hope Breaks Out In Iraq, MSN Hardest Hit

As much as we hate to rain on Jack Murtha's gloom and doom parade...

Actually, we don't really. Thus, with no further ado:

Iraqi civilian deaths lowest in four months, Pelosi said to be "eating hat":

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The number of Iraqi civilian deaths in February was the lowest for four months as a security plan was launched in Baghdad midway through the month, figures from Iraq's interior, defense and health ministries showed on Thursday.

Fortunately, al-Reuters triage teams are on the job:

But at 1,645 civilian deaths, the figures provided to Reuters by ministry officials are still far above the 545 civilian deaths recorded a year ago during February 2006.

Because, you know, a single negative data point a year ago is far more significant than comparing this month to the four previous months.

Especially if it helps you prove your point that the Shrub lied us into an illegal and immoral war that we can no more win than we can flip a pancake... err... win an earthquake...err...chug a milkshake. Give us a minute. We're sure it will come to us.

Meanwhile, more of those worthless Iraqi forces who refuse to step up to the plate and take responsibility for their own security:

BAGHDAD, March 1 -- Iraqi security forces backed by Sunni tribesmen killed dozens of suspected Sunni insurgents over several hours of fighting Wednesday in a village in western Iraq, Iraqi police officials said Thursday.

The fighting was unusually fierce for an Iraqi-led operation and was also notable because of the collaboration of tribesmen in volatile Anbar province. In recent months, the U.S. military has aligned itself with dozens of tribal sheiks who are collaborating in an effort to drive the Sunni insurgent group al-Qaeda in Iraq from the vast desert territory.

I tell ya folks, we need to withdraw to a safe, over-the-horizon position in Okinawa like...yesterday. The so-called "Surge" has just taken all the heart out of these folks.

These people are just bloody shirkers, daggnabbit:

Iraqi security forces killed dozens of al Qaeda militants who attacked a village in western Anbar province on Wednesday, during fierce clashes that lasted much of the day, police officials said on Thursday.

Sunni tribal leaders are involved in a growing power struggle with Sunni al Qaeda for control of Anbar, a vast desert province that is the heart of the Sunni Arab insurgency in Iraq.

U.S. and Iraqi military officials said troops would soon launch aggressive operations to seize weapons and hunt gunmen in the Shi'ite militia bastion of Sadr City, signaling resolve to press ahead with the plan even in sensitive areas.

Dozens of loud explosions that sounded like mortar bombs rocked southern Baghdad in quick succession on Thursday evening, Reuters witnesses said.

Iraqi military spokesman Brigadier Qassim Moussawi said the blasts were part of the new security offensive, Iraqiya state television reported, without giving details. A U.S. military spokeswoman said she had no information on the explosions.

Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Karim Khalaf said foreign Arabs and Afghans were among some 80 militants killed and 50 captured in the clashes in Amiriyat al Falluja, an Anbar village where local tribes had opposed al Qaeda.

I hate to admit it, but John Foregainst Kerry was right. Our presence there is just encouraging these people in this .... madness! Madness I tell you!

Good helk. Next thing you know they might actually be free and secure it themselves and then we will have to skedaddle into the sunset.
It's about freakin' time.

Stop that! Nee This place is getting much too silly.

Are these the same al Qaeda terrorists that a moonbat recently insisted are not in Iraq, now?

I can just hear little Katie "Cupcake" Couric crying in her capuccino.

"The fighting was unusually fierce for an Iraqi-led operation ..."

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

Funny how the Mohammad loving al qaeda types run from the Ethiopians in Somalia to Madagascar.

Losing their support networks in sunniland and shiiteville, Iraq, they hightail it back to Pakistan and Iran to soak up some R and R.

When we win in Iraq it will be interesting how the lefties spin their way into taking credit for it!

Al Qaeda in Iraq is really taking some losses according to Bill Roggio
I'm confident the lefties will spin it. What really amazes me is the scarcity of reliable news from Iraq.

If you go to CENTCOMs Press Release page you'll see 20 press releases for the last week.
Of those 20 stories, 3 tell of American setbacks and 17 tell of significant gains.

Which stories do you think the MSN broadcasts to the world?

Did someone mention Somalia?
I was watching In Living Colour last night and they were doing a late night infomercial skit.

Jim Carrey played the white haired host. The girl on the right played Cher and the girl on the left played Jessica Hahn.

Jim Carrey: "Cher! Your thoughts on Somalia?"

Cher: "They say you can never be too rich or too thin. They're already half way there."

Carrey turning to Jessica: "Jessica! Mogadishu?"

Jessica Hahn: "Gesundheit."

I laughed so hard I woke the neighbor up.
