One Question

What moron thought cathedral ceilings were a good idea?

And why is my weiner dog making a nest in my curtains?

Ok. That's two questions.

Look.
It's Easter.
Go to church for me.
And gaze high upon those ceilings.
And gaze high upon those ceilings.
And ask whether that sky might exist.
And ask whether it might still exist.
And then breathe once, deeply,
the fragrance
of that wind you only suspect.
And then breathe again.

OK :)

If you insist.

Do I hear three?

What is that, mr rdr???? :p

I got nothin'. First Carrie loses all respect for me as a human being, then I get the Three Dots and the Spanish Inquistion????

I give up.

"Do I hear three?"

I must admit, that was unexpected!

I don't understand that stuff, I guess I'm new. After the funeral The Queen sent me to get one of them portable basketball goals for the GrandGirls. More E-Bunny stuff you know. I walked into Wally World behind this young man, undoubtedly a young Coast Guard Pilot, with three of the cutest little girls you ever saw. Dressed/looked identical, except they had different sneakers. I asked, "Are they triplets?". He said yeah and grinned. The place was packed, and everybody within eyeshot of them girls was smiling and cooing. Cute.

"(And) pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a Hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care
It's five o'clock somewhere."

Your lament against cathedral ceilings sounds like it comes from someone trying to paint one. :)

Posted by: MathMom® at April 8, 2007 10:03 AM

Bingo.

Posted by: Cassandra at April 8, 2007 10:14 AM

Cathedral ceilings belong in cathedrals. However, they are the devil to heat and to paint. What's more, you need one of those telescoping things to get the cobwebs out of the corners.

So you paint once every few years, you enjoy the feeling of a room that seems larger than it is all year long. Nice and light. Suck it up and climb the ladder.

Or employ an illegal immigrant. Your call.

Do you really want us to answer that?

You always were quicker than the average bear, Cricket. But then it really wasn't very funny, was it? Like most of my oversubtle attempts at humor. Sometimes sharing isn't such a good idea. :p

Posted by: Cassandra at April 8, 2007 09:50 PM

Not really. I get sucked into Pile's brilliant satire, your wonderful writing and spend lots of time pondering what the commenters post.

If you have a cathedral ceiling, it is to let your
thoughts and prayers take flight.

It was funny...and touching. You work hard and have a purpose in your life...and if I might say, that it is to not only raise your sights, but those of others.

Cathedral ceiling? You betcha.

Cathedral ceiling has a touch of oxymoron to me.

Posted by: tomg at April 9, 2007 04:42 PM

A friend of mine in the energy industry says that cathedral ceilings are Great! for trapping heated or AC air...

Posted by: luton at April 9, 2007 09:46 PM

Cathedral ceilings may trap all the hot air, but
cold air sinks, does it not? So, would you put the AC vents up on the wall and the hot air vents on the floor?

Just askin...

heh
