Patronizing Jackass Of The Day

moron.jpg

It wasn't easy, destroying all those copies of "Saving Private Ryan" and "Full Metal Jacket".

But it had to be done. Otherwise, how would the Corps get them to believe all those Lying Lies?

Moron...

This is what happens when you live in a climate without winter. You never have to shovel snow, never have to chip ice off your sidewalk, never have to put heat tape on the eaves to keep an ice dam from forming and causing water to flow down your inside walls.

So you have all this pent-up energy which you turn to stupid political movements instead of real work, and you become a moonbat and sit around Berkeley in a dorky hat making an @$$ out of yourself.

Funny, I don't remember the recruiter telling me any lies--and I enlisted even without the sales talk. (It was either that or be subject to the draft and not have a choice where I went.)

In fact, the recruiter told me that the only thing I should take to boot camp was a toothbrush. Well, I didn't believe him, so I packed the normal health & comfort items, only to find that everything (except my toothbrush) was thrown away during in-processing, just so I could buy new ones from the PX.

I am a foreigner currently in California. I just chanced upon your blog. Do keep it up. Please allow me to comment. I am indeed amazed by some Americans. Do these people think they can enjoy freedom without paying for it? Do they know what will happen to the USA the moment you have a weakened military? I come from a country with no freedom and believe you me, if I am an American, I would recruit without a second thought. You just cannot enjoy freedom without having to protect it. I would really like to invite those bunch of lunatics to stay in my country and the moment they open their mouths or try to deface government property, they'll be rounded up and 'interned' indefinitely without trial. Their lawyers won't even know how to reach them. We have a saying back home, "It is indeed very dangerous to be right when our government is wrong". I am sorry to see what is happening here. To us in the outside world, America is the last bastion against despotic governments. Without your military, the whole world suffers.

Thank you for visiting, Eric.

I believe that, also with my whole heart. But they have lived with unearned freedom for so long that they take it as a birthright instead of something that must be defended.

I get it when young people say stupid things....they haven't lived long enough to understand why this guy is truly a moron. For someone of his age to do this sort of thing is just beyond me.

In economics, a basic principle is that when something has a relatively high price, only those who value the product the most will buy it. Goods that are provided as zero cost are something of a problem: when I can have all I want at no cost, the usual economic calculus fails.

In this respect, the smaller and smaller group of Americans who bear the cost of freedom is a problem for the rest of society. In WWII, I feel sure that there must have been a few morons like this, but the vast majority of Americans had to sacrifice something to defend the nation.

I hope we will find a way back to the time when the vast majority were able/willing to shoulder some of the costs and burdens of defending freedom. The bozo in the photo can kiss my a#$*&^

Where is Mayor Daley (the Elder) when you need him? He showed the right way to deal with hippie idiots back in 1968. I remember watching the footage on TV, and was never so proud to be a Chicagoan.

Those punks may now have graying hair, but still espouse the same idiocy and, as far as I am concerned, a fool of any age still deserves a swift kick up the backside! Let's really help them remember the '60s by importing a bunch of Chicago cops into Berkeley for intense one-on-one, or group, "enlightenment" sessions.

Eric Chen, thanks for sharing your perspective. I only wish that all of our citizens had the opportunity to visit other places in the world so that they might better appreciate the truth in your words.

Milady,

"I believe that, also with my whole heart. But they have lived with unearned freedom for so long that they take it as a birthright instead of something that must be defended."
Dare I think that this might lead into further thoughts and discussions on... on... mandatory national service? =8^}

I have to figure out a way to buy a beer for some of you folks!

I agree, we have work to do and it will take time. If not mandatory national service, at least an education system (Heh) that teaches appreciation for our wonderful ALL volunteer military. It certainly won't happen overnight but I've noticed one thing the lib dhimmies do better than the rest of us.... they are content to chip away at our beloved values (freedoms, liberties) increment by increment. We all want to fix things instantly. We have to be content to restore our rights bit by bit!

My son, who's a really cool guy, went to Ohio State when he graduated from High School. He realized that it was tough for me to come up with the dough, so he decided at the end of his freshman year to enlist in the military so he could use GI Bill money when he got out. He talked to all the recruiters and joined the Marine Corps because he thought the Marine recruiter was the one who was the straightest with him. He only made one promise, and that was "Because you have a year of college, you'll come out of boot camp as a PFC. That is IF you make it through boot camp." And, of course, he graduated as a PFC.

Has Pinky McStraw-hat seen any of the recent USMC recruitment ads? In one we see footage of urban combat in Iraq, complete with Abrams tanks firing into the palm groves and a rifle squad storming a house. That's rather far removed from his assertion that the recruiters lie.

Posted by: PaleoMedic at February 14, 2008 11:30 AM

ah, yes the recruiters.

I'd have to believe that Mr. Straw Hat, doesn't think about unintended consequence. Sure we can close recruitment. We can stop having a volunteer force. Then we can have universal conscription of everyone 18yrs, for a 2 year hitch. Problem solved.

I have run into some pretty amazing people in my life... a number of them think that armed forces are unecessary. They think you are insane when you try to explain how much of a deterrant being stong is.

Posted by: SwissArmyD at February 14, 2008 11:59 AM

"They think you are insane when you try to explain how much of a deterrant being stong is."

It's because they fear it. Really, it is the only argument they can make without being strong themselves.

Eric understands it a lot more than a lot of people in Berkeley.

The expression on the policewoman's face tells quite a story.

In WWII, I feel sure that there must have been a few morons like this...

Which, when you think about, would have been a slightly more realistic era for it. Back then, it was a major endeavor to invade/attack a country just a few short miles across the English Channel, much less the Atalantic and/or Pacific ocean.

These days, distances have compressed drastically just as the lethality of weapons has increased exponentially. Neither argue towards a safe isolationism. The combination of the two is, frankly, very frightening.

To feel yourself safe without a vigilant military willing to voluntarily fight wherever, whenever, and with roughly half of their own country denigrating or actively working against their efforts is to be willfully blind to the world you live in.

No amount of ass kicking is going to make them see the light. They're hopeless.

Politically, on most fronts, I'm a liberal. Been so since high school. Big into reading...Edward Said, Noam Chomsky, etc. I've been a big critic of the government, and in my teen years was what I can only describe as "venomous". I was horrified by 9/11, but at the same time, totally against invading Afghanistan and even more vehemently against invading Iraq.-Ian

Cass, the world is changed one "patronizing jackass" at a time ; ) But not every jack is an ass, so we have to prospect.

Posted by: Ymarsakar at February 14, 2008 06:49 PM

It's because they fear it. Really, it is the only argument they can make without being strong themselves.

In a way, being strong requires that you take responsibility.

Responsibility for the women and children that look to you for protection.

Responsibility for the positive results of your actions as well as the negative.

Responsibility even for things you shouldn't even be responsible for, such as fixing other people's mistakes and disasters because not to do so would negatively affect your loved ones.

To the Left, to the Communists, to the Socialists, National or Democratic, being weak is a virtue. Being a victim is a virtue. Being murdered, mugged, attack, slaughtered, killed, and raped is a virtue, it is a sign that you are morally superior because obviously you wouldn't be a victim if your enemies weren't better at physical violence than you were. If your enemies didn't have superior firepower and military industrial complexes to impose Their will on you and yours; all of that means that you have the moral high ground.

Obviously we don't think the moral high ground is taken by refusing to protect women and children just because it would make us more like our enemies. But that's exactly what a Leftist thinks about foreigners in Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Europe, and Iraq. Sure, they'll ally with the "people", but only because it provides a political or monetary advantage to the socialist revolution. Once they have used you up, you are just another appliance for them to sell or throw away.

The loyalty of a Democratic Socialist or a National Socialist is not to you, not to their fellow neighbors or even their families. Their loyalty is to whomever they consider their own. They are their own little tribe, and what would be restricted and unlawful against their own, is not restricted and unlawful against you. This has been true whenever two alien cultures meet. Japan vs America. Amerindians vs European settlers. Tribe against tribe. Clan against Clan. Romeo and Juliet.

And yet social revolutionaries have no excuse. They don't have the barrier of a different language to justify classifying Republicans or Americans or Iraqis as the "Other" and thus justify their extermination and exploitation. They don't have the justification of ignorance and a lack of a better way, as was the case with dirt poor colonists and settlers that couldn't even read or write.

They have no excuses. But they choose the path of eternal war anyways, simply because they apparently like to make people suffer. And the more people they make suffer, the more successful and righteous they feel. The fact that they believe the same of you, the fact that they believe the US Marines are what they said they are, is simply an acknowledgement that only one of us can be right. Only one of our factions can be right. We are not in the days of ignorant clans vs ignorant clans that don't even remember what started their blood feuds. We have the internet. We are literate. We have Ph.Ds and government records. It is far less likely that both of our factions are in the wrong concerning our world view. While you know in clan warfare, both clans had problems and made more of them with every year. Since it was so easy to remember what the other person did to you, even if it wasn't true.

In the modern world, it takes specific propaganda skills and real effort to block out what the US Marines are doing. It is not just a case of hate or self-denial as might be practiced by the McCoys vs their eternal enemies, it is real hard work.

In WWII, I feel sure that there must have been a few morons like this...

Of course there were. When Hitler attacked Stalin, they had no particular reason to be against America, you know.

And if you read Neo-Neocon's blog, you might remember a post she scrounged up concerning the socialite class that was having dinner parties in America while WWII went on. They were just as disconnected as anyone you can imagine, and just as spiteful and emotionally violent with their comments to widows and wives with men stationed at the front.

The real problem is that enemy propaganda is so effective at brainwashing the young, the old, the foolish, and the intellectuals into believing that "defending freedom" is attacking rich people, white people, the Second Amendment, the US military, etc.

A specific individual may not be against all of those things, but there are enough of them against all of those things listed to be a real and real present danger to the gates that are holding the barbarians back. Too many enemy sympathizers inside a besieged city, even if those sympathizers don't know which cause they are helping, will eventually cause the city to fall.

It is very easy to cause hysteria and panic in a dangerous situation just as it is easy to refocus rage and anger for a nation full of spoiled brats that have never known the physical laws governing violence and human nature.

The two are the same spectrum, just opposite ends. On one end, we have Iraq. No central government in 2003, with rebellious populations scattered amongst regular Shia and Sunnis that just want security; they just want to live in peace and go on with their lives.

On the other end, we have America. Where people do go on with their lives for the most part, but are still dissatisfied because challenge and motivation and leadership are missing. And they are missing because when a Golden Age ends and a people have to confront the deep dark, then they will find that they have no leaders capable of confronting the deep dark because nobody has ever been outside the city walls! Then what happens is that you get demagogues that tell complacent people who to hate for their dissatisfaction.

Happiness is relative in a sense. People are complacent because they don't know how worse it can get. People are happy because they don't know how better their lives could be, they think their lives are the best compared to anybody else. That's not really philosophical of course, but it is the cold hard facts of human reality and behavior. That is what people actually do. They are unhappy if they see other people living better than them. They are happy if they believe themselves to be at the top.

Aristocrats back in Rome's times would not believe the creature comforts that are given out to the weakest and lowest amongst the social classes of America. The welfare supported, the disabled, and the powerless.

This is why the study of the history of war and of humanity is so important to a person's ability to judge just exactly what their efforts to improve humanity are doing. It is the feedback system that allows a person to accurately judge good policies from bad.

Ignorance in this day and age is bad enough. But when combined with enemy propaganda, with an enemy that knows how to exploit that complacency, that ignorance, and that fear of violence and chaos such as what occured to Iraqs and Arabs and Palestinians, it is an entirely different ballgame.

So what's the solution? Simple, but not easy.

I am a foreigner currently in California. I just chanced upon your blog. Do keep it up. Please allow me to comment. I am indeed amazed by some Americans. Do these people think they can enjoy freedom without paying for it? Do they know what will happen to the USA the moment you have a weakened military?

The only way to rebalance the equation is to introduce fresh blood. Get new people. Whether they be Mexicans or Iraqis or Afghanistanis. Empires fall because they get into a stasis and are unable to assimilate more populations through what used to work. America has been very stable for decades now. It is probably the most stable political entity around. Older than Britain and Europe. They were going with Kings while the US has had the same system for centuries.

America is not powerful because of immigrants. America is powerful because immigrants can become Americans. With all the rights and responsibilities that go along with this. However, the Democrats are working to ensure that all immigrants and Americans are slotted into parasitic slots that will continually harm and kill the host, the nation of America itself.

People outside the US are not spoiled. But to take them inside the system, they will be exposed to all the problems of America, like the US Senate's support for La Raza and Robert "KKK" Byrd.

If you can get the system working, then your two problems solve itself.

What are America's two problems? Internal dissent and malfunction along with foreign threats and instability.

With the ability to integrate immigrants and Mexican workers into both the military and political leadership, both problems are solved.

People want work and a better life. America needs soldiers to secure the world and better politicians. It is a mutual alliance of interests, and the only thing that will ever be stable in the long term.

Many Socialists and Leftists like to say that America is an empire and that all empires fall. These utopian fanatics seem to be implying that their way is the way to Perfection and Eternal Immortality.

They need to recognize this truth from the universe.

Everything dies. You can take anti-oxidants and anti-aging products, you can fight to kill your attackers, you can protect your children and valuables, but in the end, it will all die. You will die and they will die. That is the way of the universe and unless you are a god, there is nothing you can do to change that.

What you can do is to help the people that you can help. What you can do is to make the best of the nation and military you have. Instead of trying to tear everything down and piss on the ashes while proclaiming that "we are righteous and progressive".

If these Code Pinkos wish to be progressive so much, then they should progress towards maximum entropy. That way they can rid the universe of their presence and thus make way for new life and change.

(Hisss to Cass: You think I may have went a little overboard here?)
