Wake Up Call
Now I'm in my car
Oooooh, I got the radio down
Now I'm yellin' at the kids in the back
'Cause they're banging like Charlie Watts
You think you've come so far
In this one horse town
Then she's laughing that crazy laugh
'Cause you haven't left the parkin' lot
Time is short and here's the damn thing about it
You're gonna die, gonna die for sure
And you can learn to live with love or without it
But there ain't no cure
It's just a slow turning
From the inside out
A slow turning
But you come about
A slow turning, baby
But you learn to sway
A slow turning
Not fade away
Not fade away

Slow Turning.
That guy is singing my life in that song.
Thanks.

I love that first stanza. I smile every time I hear it. It reminds me of years ago, watching my little niece (she's 16 now) and she was pitching a fit and then I put in a Renaissance Celtic tape I have and her little body just relaxed like magic and I looked in the back seat to see her little feet just dancing :) Magic - pure magic!
A few years ago my youngest son took me to the 9:30 Club in DC to see John Hiatt and Shawn Colvin. It was an amazing show - they were both SO good in concert.
