The ACLU...

nekkid.jpg ...they're looking out for your rights:

The ACLU will host a public forum Tuesday called "Naked in Boulder." The forum will discuss whether nude offenders should be treated as "pranksters and protesters, or criminals and sex offenders."

Thank God someone is willing to take on this important work.

I vote "pranksters and protesters". There, it's settled.

"Then there's an offense on the record that doesn't fit the crime..."

The offense was indecent exposure and the crime, *as defined in the law*, was indecent exposure. How does the offense not fit the crime?

"...and the public truly doesn't know what a criminal record means."

Then educate the public.

The law was on the books when the protesters decided to do their thing -- if the citizens of Boulder decide the law is too inflexible, petition the legislators to amend the law, say, changing the punishment to posting the pic of the offender in the sports pages of the Denver Blurb, along with the caption, "Lance (Vienna Sausage) Farkenparker was convicted of..." or "Farkenparker was eventually picked out of a police lineup which included a Barney costume on a coatrack and a Helen Thomas blowup doll."

How about what they really are....drunk. Or is the switch to a pumpkin instead of a lamp shade on the head throwing them off?

I am still looking at the gent with the pumpkin on his head.

The one you're studying isn't cropped at the navel, then?

How about what they really are....drunk.

"Last year, more than 60 nude cyclists rode around the city protesting oil-burning cars;"

Not drunk, but abysmally stupid.

"...a teenager streaked at the Boulder-Fairview football game;"

Okay, drunk.

"...and about a 100 people participated in the annual Naked Pumpkin Run."

Probably both drunk *and* abysmally stupid.

Thank you for that. I am a boring person. There are many things in life I don't need to see ;p

"WAID A MINNIT!!!
You can get that over there but not Alan Jackson? WTF!!?"
Affirmation that the world is wobbling on its axis.

To think, this exhibitionist proclivity was once considered to be a sprinting sport, not a marching parade sort of event.

*sigh* The things you see when your paintball gun is at home...

"In the south there's a difference between 'Naked' and 'Nekkid.' 'Naked' means you don't have any clothes on. Nekkid' means you don't have any clothes on ... and you're up to somethin!"

He *does* telegraph his links well, doesn't he?

Posted by: BillT at April 28, 2009 03:02 AM

The last thing I need right now is to be hauled before the ICJ on a trumped up violation of the Truth In Linking treaty.

You know how it goes... You make a good faith effort to reveal the link, then at some point in the future the aesthetic wind shifts and all of a sudden, no one remembers the your efforts and everyone is demanding a trial.

Well, I have to admit that while I *figgered out* what the song was, I did have something of an "in"....SWHNOB loves his greatest hits cd and recently auditioned for her school's talent show singing "Jeremiah Peabody's Polyunsaturated, Quick-Dissolving, Fast-Acting, Pleasant-tasting, Green and Purple Pills".
Alone.
Without music.

They're being unfairly labeled. Where is Ward Churchill on this?
