Curses! Foiled By Morons Again!!!!
The intrepid mr rdr points to an amusing comment by former Clintonite, Robert Reich:
Robert Reich, the labor secretary under President Bill Clinton and now a professor at the University of California at Berkeley, says on his blog that the Republican right won the health-care debate during August because they were more disciplined than the Democrats.
Obama and progressive supporters of health care were outmaneuvered in August — not because the right had any better idea for solving the health care mess but because the rights’ attack on the Democrats’ idea was far more disciplined than was the Democrats’ ability to sell it.
You've got to love the searing logic of the Left.
These are people whose explanation for everything is that anyone who dares to disagree with them is either stupid, ignorant, or so gullible that they believe even the most blatant and shameful of lies.
Which prompts us to wonder: how humiliating must it be, if you consider yourself to be one of the "smart folks", to be beaten over and over again by a bunch of stupid, ignorant whack jobs?
The litany of excuses over the years is almost too delicious to contemplate. When Democrats lost the 2000 and 2004 elections the nation was treated to a real tour de force of revisionist angst. Who were they beaten by?
George Bush: a pretzel-snorting, fiendishly stupid evil mastermind with all the searing intellectual capacity of a mildly retarded chimpanzee. And yet somehow, this hapless bumbler managed to defeat two vastly smarter opponents and hoodwink half the electorate into voting for him.
As if that weren't bad enough, now Barack Obama - a man with the mind of Aristotle and the mad oratorical skills of The Great Communicator - can't out-argue a mob composed of ignorant lunatics and bitter, gun clinging racists!
What is the world coming to?

"The mistake was thinking we could have a debate with a bunch of know-nothings."Always will be the case eh? Those super smart, intellectual, progressive, bastions of know all, see all, don't have to read legislation or consider the outcomes of past proposals which are, strikingly similar to their current proposals. And the rest of us who suffer from being too stupid to trust them on little more than their word. Imagine...

My friends, we have only just left an eight year period of political discussion with a Democrat consisting of - Bush is an idiot! Argument was ended. Barney Frank calls his own constituents idiots, but he can get away with it, because he is the smartest man in the world.
If you want to know what the Left really thinks of the average person who has finally discovered that he/she has vocal cords, listen to the ones who have absolutely no fear of being voted out of office.

I enjoyed your post and linked it over at my place in my post on my Obama Prevarication Predictor and his current fake retreat from the public option, but I don't know if the trackback went through. It is delicious now that we understand his playbook. I don't think he expected conservatives to wake up and get busy thwarting him. Heh.

So what he's suggesting is that Wiley E.Coyote outsmarted them again?

I absolutely delight in the arrogance and blatant hypocrisy of the Left and BEG them to keep it up. Don't change a thing, Libs. You are bring change. Change back to conservatism, that is.

Last time my husband was deployed, my doctor was after me about having low blood pressure.
Fortunately, I found an easy, at-home remedy: The comments sections of the New York Times. Just a few moments spent perusing the snooty, smug elitism on display there elevates the old blood pressure every time :p

"So what he's suggesting is that Wiley E.Coyote outsmarted them again? "Ohhhhhhh!
Smile when you say that. 'Cause this time I'ma gonna meet them rascally rabbit attacks on Democrats’ ideas head on.
Ever seen me shoot? Best you stand front and center, but far away from mah feet, for your own safety there pardner.
But you can call me Yosemite.

I can handle the truth.
I just can't recognize it for what it is.
And, in the end, that's the only truth worth knowing.

That is 'bible clinging'. The Young Man is snorting with laughter over this.

There has to be a way to stop you people from voting!! You are ruining everything we are trying to achieve for you! Acorn is going to have to work a little harder to overcome your obvious stupidity, you can't even recognize what is good for you.
Seriously, the next step has to be a way to affect the vote so the voters can't mess up these brilliant plans they have for us. By 2010! Otherwise the Democratic party might explode.
Actually I wouldn'tbe surprised that after all the cheating Acorn will do with the federal bailout money they will be shocked when they lose. So shocked because they know they cheated, and will surmise because they cheat the only reason the Dems lost was because the right cheated better. Will there be violence? I expect they will start it, and yes there will be.

Changed my nom de plume for this one.
The only thing standing in the way of conservatism coming back happens to be the Republican party.
The RNC holds the parties purse strings, and Michael Steele, head of the RNC, is a nice enough guy, but being a nice guy has absolutely nothing to do with running a political party. Take his Chief of Staff, for instance. He was formerly the campaign manager and, later, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Rhode Island. According to his bio, his great feat was running a successful campaign in a heavily Democratic state. Well, as the pro's who worked the campaign said, the candidate won despite their efforts. The man won for two reasons. One was his personality, and the other was the fact that his opponent was pathetic. Oh, and in that heavily Democratic state, he was succeeding a Republican governor.
After winning the campaign, the first thing done was to rehire every unemployed Democrat in the state. Why? Well, according to the Chief of Staff, the Democrats were the only ones who had to fill the positions.
Another thing I found humorous was the way the Hispanic supporters were treated. Those leaders of the Hispanic community who went out on a limb to support the Republican candidate, well, they got to see the Hispanics who supported the Democrat move into some nice positions. Oh, the Hispanics who had supported him, community leaders and college educated, were offered some nice little clerk slots if they wanted them. Wonder why Hispanics are not breaking down the doors to become Republicans?
If people like this are running the RNC, we, those of us who happen to be Republicans, are all in trouble. A former Democratic Speaker of the house, Tip O'Neill, said, "All politics is local." It happens to be a thought the Republican party should think of trying out.

Needs an update:
Politics is national, payoffs is local.

"You've got to love the searing logic of the Left."
Now there's an oxymoron if ever there was one...

Camo, haven't you heard that logic is independent of content?

If you sincerely believe that your opponents are as dumb as a box of rocks, you're going to be surprised when those rocks come back at you as though they were pitched by a poo flinging chimpanzee. It's the way of the world--start dodging.
