Later Tuesday, ABC sought to clarify Gibson's comments: "He was aware of the general story and Jake's reporting on it but wasn't familiar with it as it was described to him on the radio this morning."
Translation: "Okay, this makes Gibson look as effed-up as a basketball mitt, but, in his defense, look at how tight the laces are."

Kinda puts an ironic light on that interview with Palin, eh?
I wonder if, in answer to the Bush Doctrine question, Sarah Palin had just channeled her *inner leftist/liberal/democrat* (I know, triple redundancy for some) and started pulling answers out her a$$, would Gibson have known the difference?
