Carrie found it! I was in such a hurry this morning that I forgot to put that in the post :)
Darned telephone.... [ripping it out of the wall]

I thought the caption was remarkable, given that it was the AP.

When I see photos like this, it really makes me appreciate the sacrifice Michelle Obama is making for our country right now in Copenhagen.

OMG :) That was hysterical!

LOL @ PJM :)

Great photo and caption. I'm seeing more and more comments slyly critical of President Obama in the media.
@ pajama momma - Funniest comment I've seen anywhere in a long time. Thanks for the laugh!

Gosh, he DOES look young....and bored.

These Soldiers are very low on Obama's priority list apparently. Hopefully he can make time for them sometime over the brief time he'll be in office - if he's ever actually at the White House sometimes during his presidency.

Well peepz, it appears as though someone else I know very personally will get an opportunity to see if soldiers are low on pbo's priority list. Or if they are lower, like down around whale poop.
I was told that my orders are being processed. For a couple of folks, I will provide details under separate cover. For the rest of you, I would only ask that you not forget my people, because I know that if they know people care, they will do all they can to make you proud and come home to live productive lives when this is all over.
The only thing that bothers me is that G.O. 1 seems to say no personal weapons. That means 9mm is my sidearm. I prefer something that starts with a ".4 ", but absent that, larger mags will have to do the trick. Maybe I can get a 7.62 as well for a long gun....we shall see. I will be working with the guys who seem to have the option of whatever they want....so maybe, maybe.
Now all I need is the firm date.

Keep me posted Kbob!
Personal weapons... Yeah, I tried to given nephew a .45 for his trip to Mesopotamia but he informed me that it's not doable.

[Deleted for exceeding the day's stupidity quota.]
Maybe Walmart would've hired him.

My, my, aren't we a *cute* little troll -- what color do you dye your hair, pink or chartreuse?

Yeah, that's correct, Kbob. The log-types were the ones who called the switch to the Europellet back in the '80s because they could ship 1.3 times as many 9-mil in the same space that would be better-occupied by .45 cal. -- completely oblivious to the fact that it can take as many as ten 9-mil rounds to do the job of a single .45 cal.
Go for the 7.62 long gun. There should be a few looking for a good home, if you hang out with the right folks...

"My, my, aren't we a *cute* little troll -- what color do you dye your hair, pink or chartreuse?I get the impression that it's more along the lines of the chihuahua left inside of a hot car in a busy parking lot. All it can do is yip at others having their conversations or going about their business. No real threat, just a show of noise based on internal pandemonium.
Posted by: BillT at October 3, 2009 04:48 AM"
Monsieur/Mademoiselle Chihuahua knows no one will bother with it, so boldly it yips, ringing away in the intertubes.
Posted by: bthun at October 3, 2009 09:35 AM
That's an insult to Chihuahuas, which at least serve a useful function as squeaky toys for mice...

Yo "yani", not everyone practices your proclivities. Maybe you should have taken some lessons in couth. I do see why you can't get a job at wal-mart though. Maybe mopping floors at McD's is near your skill level.
As for me, I did stay - and returned to school - to get a couple of degrees. But I value my freedom and the lives of friends, family and even human waste like yourself, and willingly will stand between you and those who would do you severe harm.
An asswhipping would not qualify as severe harm, but then you'd have to man up, or woman up, which is probably far beyond your level of inherent fortitude. Therefore, junior, I suggest you sit in Grandma's basement and drink your diet Pepsi and eat Cheetos. When your johnson turns orange...well, I guess it's the end for you....
Till then STFU.

If I have any luck at all I will be with the lads from Oz, and although the chow leaves much to be desired, they are some kind of good soldiers. I am definitely honored to be on the same side.

Good on ya', Kbob. We had Sur'n lads, two guys from Bahston, and four Canuckistanians in my old outfit -- the one up the river was a US-Ozzie mix.
Fun times sorting all the accents out on a big contact...
