Carnival of Christmas
The egg nog is made, we just roasted a few dozen oysters over an open fire and we're thinking of friends and loved ones.
Over at Kat's place. One stop shopping for all your Yuletide merriment needs.
Merry Christmas, peoples!

Merry Christmas, all.
We just got our annual "present" from the dirtbags -- kinda like DC, all smoke, noise, no permanent effects...

There's so much to say and be thankful for, but be glad with today. All I've got is this; you may recognize it:
And in that region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them,"Be not afraid, for behold I bring you great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you; you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
"Glory to God in the highest
and on earth peace among men
with whom he is pleased!"
He is with us still. He shows himself through the lives of men and women who are still good shepherds. So say of prayer of blessings and thanks for our friends far from home today, serving as good shepherds. As if this crowd needs a reminder.:)

A reminder never hurts. I saw the story of the private who is being held captive by the Taliban.
We will be keeping his name foremost in our prayers.
There will be others we will be praying for.
