Go. Now.

Must read post from Dymphna. One gifted writer remembers another.

Know, all who see these lines
That this man, by his appetite for honor,
By his steadfastness,
By his love for his country
By his courage
Was one of the miracles of the Gods.

- Guy Gavriel Kay

Never forget.

Quite an homage...and I agree, a gifted writer.

Thank you for posting this, Cassandra. I was unaware of Steven Vincent until now. I am glad to learn about his brave and honorable efforts in Iraq and the beautiful relationship he shared with his wife. May he rest in peace and may his wife find comfort and joy in remembering the time she shared with him.

Enjoyed the post by Dymphna. Steven Vincent and those who wrote of him, including you Cass (great 17 Apr 08 post), are truly inspiring. Thank you.

I re-read his book, In the Red Zone, recently. It's a good read if you're looking for a new book and I think they re-released it in 2009.

Thank you, Cass. A good memory jogger. Many gifted writers, including you.

Bruce, I was happy to see the information about Lisa too. Back when that was all going on, I was pretty disgusted with the rumors that were going around but I didn't have anything (other than my gut impression of Vincent) to refute them with.

It's an amazing story and Dymphna did a fantastic job telling it.

It would make a stellar movie.

That was a very beautiful tribute at Dymphna...
