Arthur Koestler remarked that if the centipede had to consciously think about which leg to move first he could probably never move at all.

Re decision-making in general, I recommend The Logic of Failure, by researcher Dietrich Doerner, featuring some very interesting simulation studies of decisions and where they go wrong. I reviewed it here.

Really, the teleprompters in the casual driveway speech are almost as funny as the fleeing dogs, and as far as I can tell they weren't even photoshopped in.
