Satire - A Dessert Best Served Cold

This site could possibly warm the cockles of AFE's heart, (perhaps even inspire a new character or three) but it will definately amuse the assemble villainry.
The comments are noteworthy as well.

Wow - I used to read them years ago. I didn't know they were still going strong. Thanks for the reminder!

Howdy Sly,
I had a different reaction than Cass; a spike of fear and revulsion, knowing that Obama would indeed proceed to federal housing regulation if he though he could.

In a way, the dramatic failure of Obummercare is a timely Godsend; it has reminded most of the voting public that gov't meddling in economic matters usually ends poorly
. . . timely in that the pain has started soon enough, is bad enough, and will surely last long enough to affect the 2014 elections.

Best Regards,

Howdy CAPT,
My thoughts pretty much mirror yours. Xerxes and his minions will try anything and everything they can to push through the rest of their agenda before next year's elections come around. Witness the nuclear option being dropped on the Republican Senate minority this morning. That one is going to come back and bite them on the ass, though. Due to the faster than expected implosion of Ocare and with it the newly-generated interest in many of this administration's scandals, it will be quite possible for Republicans to not only regain the Senate, but gain in the House as well. Then, mark my words, Senate Democrats - led by Harry Reid - will decry and demonize the rule change they made because it won't be "fair" to the minority.
I do hope you took some time to toodle around the site, though. Most all of the sidebar *ads* are written by the site authors and contain quite a bit of good snark.

Love the People's Cube! I actually bought about a dozen of their all-red spoof of the Rubik's Cube and handed them out as Christmas gifts to all my Leftist friends a few years ago. Even the commies had to laugh.

As to your post, Cass: We should let the toiling masses know the fine print of getting a "People's House".
1. The promise that you will save $2,500 on your mortgage payment with a People's House (Volkshausen) is an expression of noble intent, not reality.
2. The promise that "if you like your current house, you can keep your current house. Period." is only valid if your current house exactly matches the blueprint plans, specifications, and exact dimensions of the Party-approved Volkshausen. For example, if the master bedroom has blue carpet instead of the Party-approved red carpet in the Volkshausen, then your house is not in compliance.
3. You will have to first be evicted from your current home before you can apply for a free Volkshausen.
4. The promise "if you like your current zip code, you can keep your current zip code. Period.", is only valid if the USPS agrees to provide you with a zip code waiver. Zip code waiver application fees are $50,000, to be paid directly to the Democratic National Committee.
5. You will have hundreds and hundreds of choices to select your new Volkshausen at the Volkshausen.gov website. Prices for your Volkshausen will be found on a separate website, however.
6. The Volkshausen.gov website is currently inoperative due to capitalist Rethuglikan counter-revolutionary spies and saboteurs acting at the behest of the imperialist, decadent West.
7. Not to worry, the Maximum Leader Obama has a team of trained monkeys typing in code to fix the website. Science has shown that a team of trained monkeys, given infinite time, will eventually type out the complete works of Shakespeare. Therefore, Comrade Secretary of Party-approved Science, Aliev Gorski, inventor of the Internet, assures us fix is "imminent".
8. In the event the Volkshausen.gov is still inoperable, you will be able to select your Volkshausen from a giant print catalog of options. The Volkshausen Print catalog is hidden in the same warehouse where the government stores the Ark of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Enjoy your free house!

Howdy again to Sly, and greetings to AFE,
While we are yucking it up at the entirely *predictable failure of Obummercare, lots and lots of ordinary people are being screwed.
Even if my soon to be patented
'Stay.Mad.and.Vote' mantra proves true in 2014, it will take years to undo the damage wrought by the recent ferocious and unwise rapid increase in gov't participation in the economy.

*in fairness, I did not expect them to muck up the details of the website this badly.

Best Regards,

CAPT Mike, I feel for those who did not vote for this but are being *serviced* without benefit of lube or a reach-around. However, I feel nothing for those who voted twice to keep these assholes in office and find they are now either losing their insurance or are having to pay two to three times more for coverge they don't want. If they were too enamored of their messiah to see that he was anything but, after all that he had already done - Fast and Furious, Afghanistan losses due to unreasonably restrictive ROE, the takeover or GM, refusal to uphold laws such as DOMA or even consider himself beholden to the law in the first place - there is nothing that can be done to help ease their pain. Sucks to be them, but this is the other side of "elections have consequences". And if I seem a bit harsh, that, too, is also a consequence of having been called every dirty name in the book, including a few new ones, for having the gall to point out that the emperor has no clothes.
