Central Planning Fail

We steadfastly refuse to pay attention to Twitter, but this has "hashtag" written all over it:

“HealthCare.gov will be out of service for two and a half days beginning on Feb. 15 — the last day people can sign up to obtain coverage that begins on March 1.

And we want to give these people MORE power? They can't plan their way out of a paper bag.

One could not write this scenario for fear of getting labeled nuts.

But, #trustthis, that piece of evidence will not get much attention.

The story on The Hill provides a bit of insight:

The site will be out of order from 3 p.m. on Feb. 15 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday — a period that coincides with the long holiday weekend.

I know what you're thinking: "What long holiday weekend?" Silly civilians! Why, Monday, February 17th is "Washington's Birthday!!!" No, not "Washington, D.C.," the other one. You know, Jerry or Jordan or something. That dead guy on the One Dollar bill? Him.

Hey, don't blame us if you've got to work that day. It's not our fault the government's closed that day. It's Congress'. See? Right here:

This holiday is designated as "Washington’s Birthday" in section 6103(a) of title 5 of the United States Code, which is the law that specifies holidays for Federal employees. Though other institutions such as state and local governments and private businesses may use other names, it is our policy to always refer to holidays by the names designated in the law.

So you see, IT'S THE LAW! And you know... you just can't go around ignoring the law anytime you just feel like it. Right?

I can see the headlines now: "UNEXPECTEDLY (!), PEOPLE WHO WAITED UNTIL THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR OBAMACARE CAUSED AN "UNEXPECTED" SURGE IN TRAFFIC THAT CRASHED HEALTHCARE.GOV".

Who could have guessed that procrastinators would wait until the last minute to sign up? I mean, it's not like that's ever happened before.

I cry foul.
It is not humanly possible to adequately mock the failures of Obamacare. These attempts do not do justice to it's looming massive failure.
