Pile On is perhaps best known for his work at The Ebb & Flow Institute where he serves as the Institute chairman and resident of the John Locke chair. In December of 2004 the Institute started a blog to raise it's public profile, at a time when the world needed a think tank with a blog raising its profile.
Sometimes in the blog/think tank world you can be the victim of your own success; as the blog blossomed, the workload at the Institute made it very difficult to run an intellectually rigorous blog worthy of The Ebb & Flow Institute name. In early 2006 the blog was shut down.
Shortly there-after Cassandra invited her long time friend to join the staff of Villainous Company. Pile was thrilled to be able to continue blogging at one of the best sites on the web without the pressure of having to post every day. Or even often. Pile is currently moonlighting as a secondary school instructor of the physical sciences, but is also well known as an artist, brewer, man of letters, maker of big rocks into little rocks, champion of liberty and human dignity, worldwide advocate for free-trade, the rule of law and malt beverages for the thirsty, man of science, patriot , voice of reason and American exceptionalism, dad and super-fan of the run-on sentence.
I...., I mean we.....er....whoever is writing this invites you to frequent VC and enjoy Pile's work.
If you wish to contact Pile, you can reach him at pileon - at - sbcglobal.net, but please understand that even though Pile would like to respond to every letter, the sheer volume of correspondence he receives makes that impossible.
